The Washington Post reported that the donation was one of the largest the NGA had obtained in a decade. NGA workers mentioned that they might use the closure to conserve paintings, plan purchases, and develop exhibitions. Plans for renovating conservation, building, exhibition prep, groundskeeping, workplace, storage, and different internal amenities had been also prepared, but wouldn’t be implemented for many years.
